“It’s very good, it’s the first time we
won a senior international event,” Wanderley said. “I
won the U19 World Championships in Portugal and now
we’ve won the Espinho Open.
“We felt at home and
celebrated as if we were in Brazil, due to the support
we felt throughout the tournament and today in the
finals.”
Norway’s Anders Berntsen Mol and Mathias
Bertsen also won their first World Tour medals as a pair
when they claimed bronze with a 2-0 (22-20, 21-15)
victory over compatriots Christian Sorum and Solhaug.
