NATIONAL TEAM TRAINING CAMP

The Portuguese National Team will begin its preparations towards the 2014 World Championship European Qualification Round on December 17, being the first training session scheduled for 16h00 of the same day at the Póvoa de Varzim Municipal Sports Hall.

Given the proximity of the competition, the National Head Coach already announced the 16 called up list for the first training camp, on which, three friendly matches against Spain are included (December 28-30 at Madrid).

“At this point, the most important is to have all players available as soon as possible, as some of the international players are coming later, due to scheduled matches of their respective teams”, stated Hugo Silva, adding, “Then we must draw our strategy for each game, which we understand to be nuclear for the team characteristics. In order for this to work, it will be very important to work hard and to withdraw the entire player’s potential, especially from the young ones. I have full confidence in this roster”, he concluded.
