PORTUGAL TO PLAY SLOVENIA IN 2014
WORLD QUALIFICATION OPENER
Slovenia will be National Team’s first opponnent for the 2014 World
Championship 3rd European Qualification Round – Pool J At Nis, Serbia,
the Portuguese will play the Slovenian on January 3, following Macedonia,
both at 15h00 local, and Serbia, at 18h00 in the final day.
The referees for the Pool J will be Sinisa Isajlovic (Austria, Philippe Marenc (France), Borislav Pobornikov (Bulgaria) and Milan Rajkovic (Croatia).
With this competition arriving soon, Hugo Silva’s team will undergo a training camp in Spain, from December 16-31, on which three friendly matches against the local National Team are scheduled (December 28, 29 and 30).
The final called to play list will be disclosed on the first week of December.
2014 World Championship European Qualification Pools
Pool I (Opava, Czech Rep.): Bulgaria, Czech Rep., The Netherlands
and Cyprus
Pool J (Nis, Serbia): Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia and Macedonia
Pool K (Ludwigsburg, Germany): Germany, Turkey, Estonia and
Croatia
Pool L (Nantes, France): France, Spain, Belgium and Belarus.
Pool M (Poprad, Slovakia): Finland, Slovakia, Greece and Ukraine
The winner of each pool as well as the second ranked teams, will qualify for the final stage to take place at Poland from September 3-21.
The National Team, head coached by Hugo Silva and assisted by Carlos Prata, continues to practice at the Carolina Michaelis School facilities.
