The Portuguese players who take part in foreign teams’ rosters, stood out as big scorers in the past weekend. Valdir Sequeira, who represents SK Posojilnica Aich/Dob was the top scorer in the duel against Amstetten, Alexandre Ferreira was the second best scorer against Trentino, and Nuno Pinheiro despite being a setter, recorded 7 points for Tours.

Valdir Sequeira’s SK Posojilnica Aich/Dob ensured the AVL – 1st Stage leadership after cruising past VC Amstetten Hypo (3-0: 25-18, 25-18 and 25-13).
The Portuguese opposite stood out in the match by scoring for 13 times (10 attacks, 2 blocks, 1 serve).
Aich/Dob (1st) will host SG Raifeisen Arbesbach(3rd) on the next round.

In Italy, Gulinelli’s and Ferreiras’ BCC-NEP Castellana Grotte kept the 9th place in Serie A1, despite the natural defeat (0-3: 18-25, 20-25 and 22-25)) at the hands of Itas Diatec Trentino.
Alex Ferreira scored 12 points (9 attacks, 2 serves, 1 block), leading his team and being the match’s second top scorer.
Next weekend Castellana visits Andreoli Latina (7th).

In France, Nuno Pinheiro’s Tours VB, which leads Ligue Pro A, faces tomorrow Montepellier for the Cup of France semi-finals.
For the championship, the French champion claimed its 9th consecutive win by downing Rennes Volley 35 (3-1: 25-21, 25-16, 23-25 and 25-19).
The Portuguese setter recorded 7 points (5 serves, 2 blocks).
Next round, Tours hosts Paris Volley (7th).
André Lopes’ Chaumont climbed to the 4th place of Pro A after winning at Ajaccio (3-0: 25-17, 25-21 and 25-16).
On the next weekend, Chaumont hosts nantes Rezé (3rd).
Still in France, Carlos Teixeira’s Stade Poitevin Volley Beach now stands 6th in the Nationale 1 Playoff, after losing to CA Brive/Correze Volley, current competition leader.
In the 2nd matchday of the all against all Playoff, Poitiers hosts PUC Volley-Ball (2nd).

In Poland, Tiago Violas’ Jastrzebski Wegiel SA, which ended the PlusLiga regular season stage in 2nd place, is one victory away to reach the championship semi-finals.
The Portuguese setter’s team beat Efector Kielce by 3-0 (25-20, 25-17 and 25-21) and 3-1 (25-23, 25-16, 24-26 and 25-20) at home, thus needing a win in one of the two upcoming return matches, scheduled to 23rd and 24th February.

Núria Silva and Bonémia Gomes’ UCAM Vóley Murcia, beat by a minimal margin Valeriano Allés Menorca (3-2: 20-25, 25-20, 16-25, 25-22 and 15-12) for the Spanish Women’s League.
Murcia now standing 4th, hosts Santa Cruz de Tenerife (9th), on the next round, scheduled to 23rd February.

In Germany, João José’s VFB Friedrichshafen continues to stand in 3rd place of Bundesliga 1, after downing Evivo Duren (3-0: 25-19, 25-19 and 25-17).
The Portuguese middle blocker scored 9 points (7 attacks and 2 blocks).
In the Bundesliga 1st stage last round, set to the next weekend, Friedrichshafen visits Moerser SC (5th).
On its turn, Marcel Gil’s RWE Volleys Bottrop continues to lead Bundesliga 2 – North, after beating TSGL Schoneiche by 3-1 (25-23, 19-25, 25-12 and 25-21).
On the next round Bottrop hosts Tecklenburger Land (5th).
In Germany’s Regional North – Women, Tânia Duarte’s VG Wima Hamburg won (3-1) Kieler TV, thus climbing to the 5th place.
On the next round, Wima hosts Lubecker TS (2nd).

In Switzerland, Rui Santos’ Chênois VC keeps the 4th place of the Playoffs, despite the loss sustained against Volley Amriswil I (2-3: 30-28, 25-23, 19-25, 21-25 and 10-15).
The Portuguese middle blocker’s team visits Lausanne UC I (6th) on the upcoming weekend.

In Norway, Stod Volley Steinkjer, coached by André Sá, which leads the Elite Division, three point clear of Oslo Volley, but two games ahead, hosts on the next round, scheduled for 2nd March, NTNUI Volley (7th and last place).
