Wegiel, Murcia and Castellana were the foreign clubs who stood out last
weekend.
In Poland, Tiago Violas’ Jastrzebski Wegiel SA kept the 3rd place, and
also came close to the first in the standings, after beating Indykpool
AZS Olsztyn away by
3-1 (34-32, 25-15, 23-25 e
25-21).
Wegiel will visit the Plus Liga leader, Delecta Bydgoszcz, on the next
matchday.
On January 26, the Portuguese setter team will play Zaksa
Kedzierzyn-Kozle for the 2013 Enea Cup semi-finals.
In Spain, Núria Silva and Bonémia Gomes’ UCAM Vóley Murcia cruised past
CV Barça
(3-0: 25-8, 25-10 e 27-25)
, with a great performance highlighted by the Spanish press, and climbed
to the 3rd spot of Women’s Superliga.
Núria recorded 9 points (8 attacks 1 block) while Bonémia only played a
few minutes. Next weekend, Murcia will visit GH Ecay Leadernet (6th).
In Italy, Flavio Gulinelli and the Ferreira brothers’ BCC-NEP Castellana
Grotte, kept the 9th place in Serie A1, despite the sensational victory
over Casa Modena, then 4th placed team, by
3-1
(27-25, 23-25, 28-26 e 25-20).
Alex Ferreira recorded 10 points (7 attacks, 3 blocks). Next weekend,
Castellana hosts Marmi Lanza Verona (11th).
In Norway, Stod Volley Steinkjer, coached by André Sá, lost the Cup of
Norway Final to Oslo Volley (1-3),
leader of the Elite Division.
Currently in the 2nd place of this league, with the same points as Oslo,
but one game ahead, Stod will have a hard task in a double-header
weekend, hosting Forde (4th) and BSI (3rd) in the upcoming 2-3 of
February.
Before, however, Stod will play the Romanian CSM Bucaresti (January 23),
for the CEV Challenge Cup – Women return match. André Sá’s team lost
(0-3: 18-25, 16-25 e 18-25) in the 1st leg, in Romania.
In Germany, João José’s VFB Friedrichshafen kept its 3rd place of
Bundesliga 1, but it’s now further away from the top, after being downed
by CV Mitteldeutschland (0-3:
23-25, 28-30 e 23-25).
The Portuguese middle blocker had 6 points (4 attacks, 2 blocks).
Next weekend, Friedrichshafen hosts Netzhoppers KW (9th).
On its turn, Marcel Gil’s RWE Volleys Bottrop still leads Bundesliga 2 –
North, despite being surprised at home by SVG Luneburg (2-3:
16-25, 25-21, 21-25, 27-25 e 14-16). Next weekend, Gil’s team hosts
KMTV Eagles Kiel (10th). Also next weekend,
Tânia Duarte’s VG Wiwa Hamburg (6th) visits Eimsbutteler TV (3rd) for
the Germany Regional North – Women.
In France, André Lopes’ Chaumont reocuppied the 6th place of Pro A after
losing at Avignon (2-3:
22-25, 25-16, 25-17, 22-25 e 15-17) against the last place team. The
Portuguese hitter recorded 6 points (3 serves, 2 attacks, 1 block).
Next weekend, Chaumont hosts Narbonne (7th).
On January 29, André Lopes’ team hosts Montepellier for the Cup of
France quarter-finals.
In the same day, Nuno Pinheiro’s Tours VB visits Rennes Volley 35.
The French champion, who still is in the lead of Pro A, postponed its
away match against Beauvais, for March 12, meaning that the upcoming
league match is due to January 26, when Tours hosts Ajaccio (10th).
During this week, the French face the Ukrainian Lokomotiv Kharkiv, for
the CEV Cup Challenge Round – 2nd leg. In the 1st leg match, Tours won
by 3-0 (25-15, 26-24 e 25-22).
