POLES AND CZECHS STRONGER AT THE YOUTH
EUROPEAN QUALIFICATION ROUND
 

Boys Youth National Team, coached by Ricardo Rocha and Daniel Lacerda, will face tomorrow (19h00) Bulgaria in the 2nd day of the Qualification Round Pool C for the 2013 European Championship, being held at Nitra. Today in the debut, the Portuguese fell to Poland (3-0: 25-16, 25-21, 25-14). Dinis Alves scored 11 points to be the best scorer of the match.

In the following days the Portuguese boys will play Slovakia (January 5, 17h30), England (January 6, 14h00) and Israel (January 7, 16h30). The first ranked team will claim a spot in the Final Round, while the 2nd and 3rd of each pool will play the Third Round of Qualification.
The Youth European Championship – Boys Final Round will take place at Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Girls Youth National Team, coached by Gilda Harris and Paula Semedo lost to the Czech Republic (0-3: 23-25, 14-25, 10-25), in the Pool B’s Qualification Round inaugural match for the 2013 European Championship, being held at Brno (Czech Rep.)

Tomorrow the Portuguese girls will have the day off, but will have to face in the upcoming days Germany (January 5, 11h30), Latvia (January 6, 16h30) and Hungary (January 7, 11h30).
The Youth European Championship – Girls Final Round will take place at Serbia and Montenegro.
