The biggest surprise came from Italy, where BCC-NEP Castellana Grotte,
coached by Flavio Gulinelli and with the Ferreira brothers in its roster,
beat Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo in straight sets (3-0: 25-22, 29-27 e 30-28),
Gulinelli’s former team, and climbed to the 9th place of Serie A1. In Poland, Tiago Violas Jastrzebski Wegiel SA claimed the 3rd position of Plus Liga, after beating Asseco Resovia Rzeszów (3-0: 25-23, 25-20 e 27-25). On the next round Wegiel will play PGE Skra Belchatów (4th).

In France, Nuno Pinheiro’s Tours VB lost to AS Cannes (2-3:
21-25, 25-13, 27-25, 24-26 e 11-15) but remains in the leadership of
Ligue Pro A.
Still in France, Carlos Teixeira’s Stade Poitevin Volley Beach kept the
2nd place of Nationale 1- Pool B after cruising past VC Michelet Hallvin
(3-0:
25-23, 25-19 e 25-19).
