PORTUGUESE AROUND EUROPE
 

O fim-de-semana resultou em saldo positivo (10 vitórias contra apenas 4 derrotas em 14 jogos disputados) para os clubes estrangeiros que têm técnicos ou atletas portugueses ao seu serviço.

The outcome of this weekend’s matches involving Portuguese players was positive. 10 victories in 14 games.

In Germany, João José’s VFB Friedrichshafen beat Dresden in straight sets (3-0: 25-17, 25-09 e 25-23), and also took advantage of the Generali Haching loss at the BR Volleys, to climb to the 2nd place of Bundesliga 1.
However, Friedrichshafen will play BR Volleys, undefeated leader next weekend, on December 22. The Portuguese middle blocker recorded 9 points (5 attacks, 3 blocks, 1 serve).

Marcel Keller Gil’s RWE Volleys Bottrop kept the leadership of Bundesliga 2 North, after winning over VSG Ammerland (3-0: 25-09, 25-14 e 25-22).
On the next round, scheduled only to January 12 of 2013, the Portuguese middle team will take on VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen (4th).

Tânia Duarte VG Wiwa Hamburg, lost at Wiker SV (2-3), but remained in the 7th spot of Regional North of Germany – Women. On the next round, also scheduled to January 12 of 2013, Wima will host VC Eimsbuttel (6th).

In France, Nuno Pinheiro’s Tours VB overcame Nantes Rezé (3-1: 25-12, 23-25, 25-17 e 25-23), thus continuing to lead Ligue Pro A.
The Portuguese setter recorded 3 points (2 attacks, 1 serve). On the next round scheduled for December 18, the defending champions will pay a visit to AS Cannes (5th). By January 8, visits o Asnières V92, for the Cup of France round of 16.

On its turn, André Lopes’ Chaumont Volley-Ball 52 Haute Marne, descended to the 9th place, after suffering at home against Montepellier (2-3: 25-23, 14-25, 25-17, 17-25 e 28-30). The Portuguese hitter recorded 8 points from 7 attacks and 1 serve.
On the next round, Chaumont visits Arago de Sète, currently 2nd in the standings and their opponent in the Cup of France round of 16.

Still in France, Carlos Teixeira’s Stade Poitevin Volley Beach kept the 2nd place in Nationale 1 – Pool B as the Poitiers beat Entente Beaucourt/Sochaux (3-1: 16-25, 25-17, 25-17, 22-25 e 15-12).
On the next round, the Portugese libero team will be hosting VC Michelet Hallvin, last in the standings.

On its turn, Renata Guerreiro’s Asul Lyon Volley, leader of Nationale 3 – Pool B Women continues cruising past its opponents. This time with a win in three sets against Volley Bron @ Lyn Lumière (3-0: 25-12, 25-20 e 25-16). The next fixture is scheduled to January 20 against ASVEL, (7th).

In Italy, BCC-NEP Castellana Grotte, coached by Flavio Gulinelli and represented by the Ferreira brothers, lost at home to Altotevere San Giustino (0-3: 20-25, 19-25 e 19-25), thus descending to the 10th place of Serie A1.
Alexandre accounted 7 points in 6 attacks and 1 serve, while his brother Marco, who played a few minutes, recorded a point in the attack. On the next round, scheduled to December 22, Castellana will visit Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo (5th).

In Poland, Tiago Violas’ Jastrzebski Wegiel SA, which is no ranked 4th in the Plus Liga, 3 points behind the leaders, after beating Lotos Trefl Gdansk (3-1: 24-26, 26-24, 25-14 e 25-16).
Next weekend, Wegiel will host Asseco Resovia Rzeszów (5th).

In Norway, Stod Volley Steinkjer, coached by André Sá, climbed to the 2nd position of the Elite Division – Women, following its victory over Forde (3-0: 25-21, 25-23 e 25-18) and BSI (3-1: 25-16, 25-23, 19-25 e 25-16).
The next fixtures for Stod include a trip to Oslo Volley, leader of the competition (January 12) and a visit to Kool (6th) in the following day.
Stod will also face Oslo Volley for the Cup of Norway Final, scheduled to January 19 of 2013.

Also victorious, UCAM Voley Murcia of Núria Silva and Bonémia Gomes, climbed to the 5th position of Women’s Superleague with two wins away in the last weekend. UCAM beat Santa Cruz de Tenerife (3-1: 25-19, 25-13, 25-27 e 25-09) and CV Aguere (3-0: 25-18, 25-12 e 25-15).
Núria recorded 14 points in the attack against Tenerife and 10 more points (6 attacks and 4 blocks) against Aguere, while Bonémia, which didn’t played in the first game, recorded 9 attacks in the second weekend fixture.
Next weekend, UCAM Murcia visits CV ACE Gran Canaria 2014 (7th).

In Swizterland, Rui Santos’ Chênois Volleyball Club kept its 5th place, despite being stunned by Volley Amriswill I (0-3: 21-25, 19-25 e 23-25). On the next round ( January 5), the Portuguese middle blocker team will face the current leader EN Gas & Oil Lugano.
