VOLLEYBALL ANIMATES SENIOR CITIZENS

 

Volleyball will be highlighted at FIL – Lisbon International Fair, within the event Senior Portugal 2012, Active Ageing International Meeting, from 7-9 December.

It will be inserted in the “Sports Area” namely as a recommended sport for people over 50 years old, and it will have its own 12x6 meters court, set by the Portuguese Volleyball Federation and where the technical experts from Lisbon Volleyball Association will demonstrate how it’s played.

Volleyball’s participation in this event counts with the collaboration of Lisbon Volleyball Association and Youth and Sports Portuguese Institute. [Program]

The Active Ageing International Meeting in an AIP – Fair, Congress & Events initiative, and will take place from 5-9 December.

The organization intents to gather “in the same room a wide range of resources and people with the common goal of delivering every care to the senior citizens, providing them with dignity and integrating them in a multigenerational society, according to their individual needs”, which fits in the social and educational objectives promoted by FPV, especially a safe and familiar sport activity with conviviality and fair-play in mind.
