AJF BASTARDO PLAYS TODAY
A “ALL OR NOTHING” MATCH
 

AAssociação de Jovens da Fonte do Bastardo plays today (18h30 local time), in Loimaa, Finland, Hurrikaani Loimaa for the CEV Challenge Cup round of 32 access.
In the first leg match, which took place at Vitorino Nemésio Sports Complex, Azores, the Portuguese lost by 2-3 (25-22, 23-25, 13-25, 25-17 e 9-15). With this outcome, the Azorean have to beat Hurrikaani and also emerge victorious from the Golden Set.
The winner of this round will meet Mladost Marina Kastela (Croatia) in the round of 32.

Stod Volley Steinkjer claimed its spot in the round of 32 of CEV Challenge Cup – Women, after beating the Hungarian team Obuda Vasas, in straight sets (3-0: 25-20, 25-19 e 27-25), following the previous win by 3-2 in Hungary.
On the next round, Stod will meet Jedinstvo Brcko (Bosnia & Herzegovina) in date yet to be announced.
On their turn, Swiss Chênois Volleyball Club and Rui Santos, eliminated from CEV Cup, will face the winner of the match SPCZ Brno (Czech Republic) - CVC Gabrovo (Bulgaria).

João José’s VFB Friedrichshafen can continue on dreaming with the qualification for the 12-team playoff, following the last night’s dramatic victory over Knack Roeselare of Belgium by 3-2 (15-25, 20-25, 25-18, 25-22 e 16-14), after being down in the first two sets.
João José posted a great performance with 9 attacks in 11 tries, 5 blocks and 1 serve, recording a total of 15 points.
In the top spot of Pool A continues Zenit Kazan as the Russian team cruised past Hypo Tirol Inssbruck in straight sets (3-0). [Standings]
For Pool C, Nuno Pinheiro’s Tours will host next Thursday, Beograd Crvena Zvezda

On its turn, Tiago Violas’ Jastrzebski Wegiel SA experienced one of the biggest comebacks ever, as Maliye Milli Pyango Ankara (Turkey) won the return match in Poland by 1-3 (25-15, 26-28, 21-25 e 21-25) and also the Golden Set, thus qualifying for the next round. In the first leg, Wegiel had won in Turkey by 3-1.
The Portuguese player team was therefore eliminated from the CEV competition.
