Men’s team of Associação de Jovens da Fonte do Bastardo lost the Challenge Cup second round of qualification - first leg to Hurrikaani Loimaa in the tie break 2-3 (25-22, 23-25, 13-25, 25-17 e 9-15) at Vitorino Nemésio Sports Complex in the Terceira Island of Azores. In the second leg match, scheduled for November 22 in Finland (18h30 local), the Azorean team has to win and overcome Hurrikaani in the Golden Set, in order to progress in the competition. The winner of this round will meet Mladost Marina Kastela (Croatia) in the Round of 32 of CEV Challenge Cup.
On the other hand, Nuno Pinheiro’s Tours VB conquered its first victory
in this year’s CEV Champions League, beating Crvena Zvezda Beograd in
straight sets (3-0:
25-21, 25-13 e 25-18). João José’s German team VFB Friedrichshafen will play today in Belgium against Knack Roeselare, also for the Champions League. For the CEV Challenge Cup - Women qualifying second round, Norwegian Stod Volley, coached by André Sá, will play tonight Obuda Vasas Budapest in Hungary. On their turn, Tiago Violas Jastrzebski Wegiel SA will visit the turquish team do Maliye Milli Pyango Ankara for the Round of 16 – first leg of CEV Cup.
