The European competitions return this week with CEV Champions League matchday 2 and the 2nd leg of the CEV Cup Round of 32.

The Swiss team Chênois Volleyball Club with Rui Santos is the first to enter this week’s action, playing tomorrow Crimsoda Krasnoperekopsk in Ukraine for the CEV Cup round of 32 2nd leg. The Portuguese middle blocker team needs a victory as they were stunned in the 1st leg by the Ukrainian side.

Also for the CEV Cup, Violas’ Jastrzebski Wegiel SA will visit next Wednesday Rennes Volley 35. In the 1st leg the Polish obtained a victory in straight sets.

Aware of their momentum and its opponent attributes, João José’s VFB Friedrichshafen wish to play eye-to-eye with the defending champions Zenit Kazan. “Zenit is out of reach of the other teams in this group, so we don’t have great expectations towards this match. We only desire to perform well. It would be pretentious aiming higher at this point” stated Stelian Moculescu, Friedrichshafen’s head coach.

In Pool C, Pinheiro’s Tours VB which lost in the inaugural matchday against Zaksa of Poland, will host 4-time Club World Champion, Trentino Diatec on November 1.
