Two victories and two losses is the balance of the debut of several Portuguese players in this year’s European competitions.
João JosE’s VFB Friedrichshafen had to suffer to overcome their opponent
Hypo Tirol Innsbruck. The German side came from behind (0-2) as they
beat the Austrian team (3-2:
19-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-23 e 15-9). Playing in Poland, Tours VC and Nuno Pinheiro lost 0-3 (24-26, 19-25 e 16-25) to Zaksa Kedzierzn-Hozle. In the CEV Cup Round of 32, Taigo Violas’ Jastrzebski Wegiel SA outscored Rennes Volley 35 (3-0: 25-22, 25-23 e 30-28). The 2nd leg match is scheduled to October 31. On the other hand, Rui Santos playing for Chênois Volleyball Club, was stunned at home (0-3) by the Ucranian side Crimsoda Krasnoperekopsk. The 2nd leg match will be played on October 30.
In Challenge Cup Round of 32 Portuguese team Associação de Jovens da
Fonte do Bastardo which celebrates 37 years, will dispute the access to
