10-OCTOBER-2012
CLUB WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
STARTS SATURDAY IN DOHA

The Club World Championships, which gather in the same event some of the best men and women teams from around the world, will be held for the third time running in Doha, Qatar from 13-19 October.

In the VIII Men World Club Championship, Trentino (Italy) 3-time CWC winner will face in Pool A Sada Cruzeiro (Brazil), Tigres N. Leon (Mexico) and Al-Rayyan (Qatar), while Zenit Kazan (Russia), PGE Skra Belchatow (Poland), Zamalek (Egypt) and Al-Arabi Doha (Qatar) will play in Pool B [Schedule]

Trentino is probably the favorite team to reach the final victory, once they have won this competition in the last three years and because so far, the Men Club World Championship has been conquered only by Italian teams.

However in this year’s edition, Trentino’s Bulgarian star Matey Kaziyski will face the strong competition of Zenit Kazan, led by the Italian Valerio Vermiglio and Russian star Maxim Mikhaylov, the Polish side Skra Belchatow and the Dutch star Wytze Kooistra, and finally the Brazilian side Sada Cruzeiro.

The eight participating teams were distributed in 2 pools (A, B). The first two teams from each pool will qualify for the semi-finals.
In the VI Women Club World Championship, Fenerbahce Istanbul (Turkey) reigning European Champion and 2010 World Club Champion will play Kenya Prisons (Kenya) and Lancheras de Catano (Porto Rico) in Pool B.
Pool A is formed by Rabita Baku (Azerbeijan) reigning Club World Champion, Sollys Nestlé (Brazil) and Bokai Bank W. (China).
The rules to qualify for the finals are the same as in the men’s event.
