The Men's Senior National Team conducted today two training sessions in Buenos Aires, where the 2nd Tournament of the World League, Poule D, is taking place from June 15 to 17.

During the morning the players had a fitness session in the gym located 20 min away from the hotel; in the afternoon they trained for the first time in Polideportivo Almirante Brown, a competition hall with the capacity for 5,000 spectators that will open for the first time for the match Portugal-Germany that will be broadcasted live by SportTV.

Miguel Tavares Rodrigues, one of the most recent enforcements of the National Team:
"It's an honour to play for Portugal in the World League, one of the most important competition in the international calendar.
I faced this call as an opportunity to find my place in the National Team and a away of showing that my work starts to bear fruit".

For the SLBenfica setter, the lack of experience of some players is compensated with the ambition to learn and win, which are basic characteristics of being young:
"In the first tournament, maybe the team showed some anxiety. The players were not fully connected within the routine and in the decisive moments of each set they tumbled a bit. Nothing too worry as it was only the first tournament.
This team is young and has the ambition to play more and better. The lack of experience may be a weakness but we will overcome it during the competition".

Argentinian newspapers allocate plenty of space to sports, but as in Portugal, 90% is reserved for football.
However and to show the usual good hospitality of Messi's country a television set was setup in the hotel's restaurant (photo) for the National Team to watch the victory of Portugal over Denmark in the UEFA Euro 2012.
