PORTUGUESE TEAMS IN ACTION
IN THE EUROPEAN COMPETITIONS

The Portuguese teams are going to take action in European competitions at the end of the current month and all of them will have to face very complicated tasks.

The Associação de Jovens da Fonte do Bastardo, the senior men's national champion, will compete to qualify for the Challenge Cup against the Germans Eviva Duren, in Azores, in the 13th, 14th or 15th of December. The referees will be Gianni Bartolini (Italy) and Ingeborg Koot (Netherlands).

Also in the second round of the Challenge Cup, but in women, CS Madeira, will visit, on the 30th of November, the Swiss Volley Koeniz. The referees are Tilmann Gyula (Hungary) and Bjorn Willems (Belgium).


The Clube Desportivo Ribeirense, national champion and winner of the Cup of Portugal, will face the Kanti Schaffhausen (Switzerland). CD Ribierense will play out first, on the 30th of November. The referees will be Zdenko Fatrdla (Slovakia) and Dariusz Jasinski (Polish).

As for foreign clubs that have Portuguese players in their squads, French Poitiers of Andre Lopes, Carlos Teixeira and Nuno Pinheiro, who is leading Pool D of the Champions League, will play against the Italian Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo on the 13th of December. The Germans of VFB Friedrichshafen of João José will host, on the 14th of December, the Romanian Team Ramat Zalau in the Champions League.
